I can't believe Express Scripts failed to negotiate a new contract with Walgreens! Let me explain what happened at best. Express Scripts is the middleman for the healthcare system. Walgreens initially was a part of Express Scripts network. Basically, this means that Walgreens was provider for the pharmaceutical needs of patients within the network. Since the negotiations is a no go, Walgreens will not provide pharmaceutical services of patients within the network any longer. However, the problem is for consumers without transportation, or those patients that are too sick to travel for a long period, won't rely on the convenience having Walgreens nearby.
